Die Befehle in der folgenden Tabelle, können z.B. in Verknüpfungen, Software oder Skripts verwendet werden um ein Verzeichnis direkt zu öffnen. Dies erlaubt es ohne Umwege zum gewünschten Verzeichnis zu springen.
Um z.B. sofort in das "Vorlagen" Verzeichnis zu wechseln, kann man "shell:Templates"in die Adressleiste von Explorer eingeben und mit Enter bestätigen.Möchte man eines dieser Befehle in einer Verknüpfung oder in der Kommandozeile ausführen, so muss der ganze Befehl verwendet werden inklusive "Explorer.exe".
